NB: the total of valid votes recorded for all the candidates plus the reported spolit votes does not equal the total votes cast reported on the LA website (19th Dec. 2011). According to the Electoral Services Manager, "the total number of ballot papers verified was 23,298 and the total number of ballot papers counted including the rejections was 23,299. At the verification stage one of the ballot boxes was out by one despite being recounted and the discrepancy was approved by the Acting Returning Officer. During the counting stage when the ballot papers were being sorted and the votes counted the ballot papers matched backed to the ballot paper account figure initially." [email: 4th Jan. 2012]
